Mozambique Day 1 – Africa & chillax

The sun came up on a beautiful windy morning and shone through the wooden weaved mesh of our Banda. We got up at 7am and there was coffee waiting for us. We sat out on the veranda and mentally started to wake up. It was lovely being in such a calm tranquil place with all you could hear was the sea.

8:30 was breakfast time and we had a Guludo sunrise (Musili, yoghurt, honey and fresh fruit) followed by eggy bread. After breakfast it was a chance to relax for a couple of hours with a book and sit outside on the sun beds.

We wandered down for lunch and got talking to the managers. It was very interesting to hear about the work that was being done by Guludo and its charity with the surrounding villages. It also has 40 permanent staff.

Lunch was a vegetable quiche and chickpeas followed by pancakes.

Then it was time for a dip in the sea. Sea, yay! The water was quite shallow for a long way out. It was nice to be cool! Then we chillaxed some more and played cards, which was super easy in the wind! Then it was time for dinner. Mmm dinner!

Tempura vegetables followed by grilled fish, sautéed potatoes and grilled tomatoes. Mmmmm!

Then bedtime.
