Travel – Livingstone to Windhoek

A reasonably simple day. Up, not too early. Packed, porridge for breakfast. Organised a cab to the airport. Sat about a bit, waiting for the flight. The mean airport lady said I couldn’t just have chips to eat and that you had to order a whole sandwich with chips. So no chips! Proper coffee though. Flight left for Johannesburg on time and we had managed to check our luggage right through to Windhoek, hoping it would arrive!

We had a few hours in Johannesburg airport. Jamie naturally needed to buy some kind of charging cable for some piece of tech. We had a beer and caught up with some emails and blogs posts. The next flight departed early, a rare occurrence indeed! No hassle, short flight to Windhoek, bags made it, and we were collected as promised.

We shared the car with a  British student who was volunteering nearby. It was nice to hear about her adventures. When we arrived at our guest house, it was lovely! The lady running it was really friendly and showed us to our room. She also showed us the bar where we could help ourselves to a beer. Namibia is fascinating already. The people speak about three languages and swap between them mid-sentence! A lot of the guests were German and the majority of conversations were happening in German. I would love to spend more time getting to know people here; it wold be interesting to find out how the history of the place has affected the people that live here now.

Anyway, we were both tired so bedtime.
