Safari Day 4 – Three Lions

Another early start, packed and breakfasted. We were going to leave the trailer behind whilst we went on a game drive and then come back for it. While the guides were tying bags to the top, they tipped the trailer backwards! We spent an amusing few minutes sorting it out before setting off. But leaving the trailer behind to collect later.

We came across a group of three young male lions who we found asleep under a tree. We followed the three of them for well over an hour. They were slowly moving across the park play fighting and rolling around for most of it. We got some great photos of them as a some points they came and sat right outside the vehicle.

After leaving the lions. We continued on our game drive and I came across some more hippos. Hippos are quite funny to watch with the variety of noises they they make. Such as blowing bubbles and blasting water at each other.

On the final section of our game drive we found a crocodile asleep on the bank of the  was the closest crocodile we had seen all trip.

After going back to the campsite and collecting our trailer we headed off on the road to Maun. We stopped in Maun for a quick bottled water and snacks (for Ali) stop and then continuing on to the campsite which was about 12km outside of the town. This campsite was more like a lodge. It had a number of different amenities such as flushing toilets, showered a swimming pool and a bar! Result!! Obviously the evening was spent in the pool followed by a couple of beers before dinner. Dinner prepared for us by Gift was Carbonara, yum!
